Trident South West Team 1 - OP VOLTEYE, an investigation into a firearms discharge in Tooting on 12 July 2025. Through meticulous investigation, determination and excellent evidential development, Trident successfully identified those responsible for the shooting, resulting in the arrest and prosecution of 3 males. The investigation delivered significant outcomes before the courts: On 14 April 2026, one male pleaded guilty to Possession for Transfer of a Prohibited Firearm and Possessing Ammunition Without a Firearm Certificate. On 29 April 2026, following a trial, a jury unanimously found the other two males guilty of Possession of a Firearm with Intent to Endanger Life and Possession of Ammunition with Intent to Endanger Life. One of these males had also pleaded guilty to multiple drug supply offences prior to trial. At sentencing on 24 July 2026, the court imposed substantial custodial sentences: 22 years' imprisonment, comprising 17 years in custody and 5 years on licence. 22 years' imprisonment, comprising 19 years in custody and 3 years on licence.
These sentences reflect the seriousness of the offending and represent a significant success in removing dangerous individuals from London's streets. Trident South West Team 1's professionalism, persistence and attention to detail were instrumental in building a compelling case and securing these convictions. Their work demonstrates the very best of Trident's commitment to tackling serious violence, disrupting the use of firearms and protecting the communities we serve.
